I got 2 flats and was around the corner from Pichón Tires. He identified the issue and patched both tires at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend him. Great service at a fair price.

Common questions and tips from our work with Chicago customers.
- Can a punctured semi truck tire be repaired?
- Often, yes. A puncture in the tread area can usually be repaired from the inside with a patch and a plug that fills the hole. If the sidewall or shoulder is damaged, the cut is too large, or the tire was driven flat for a long way, it usually has to be replaced. We inspect the tire first and tell you which one it is.
- What should I do when a truck tire goes flat on the highway?
- Get the truck safely onto the shoulder or off at the nearest exit, turn on your hazards and set out your warning triangles. Do not keep driving on a flat steer or drive tire, because it can damage the wheel and the tires next to it. Then call (773) 444-7333 with your location, the tire size and which position is damaged.
Tip
Check dual tires as a pair
On a dual setup, when one tire loses air the other one carries the extra load. It can be damaged too, even if it looks fine. When a dual goes flat, have both tires checked. Keeping tread depth and pressure matched across a dual pair helps both tires wear evenly and share the load the way they should.
Tip
Look at every tire during your pre-trip
A look at each tire during your pre-trip inspection catches a lot: low pressure, nails or screws in the tread, bulges in the sidewall, and uneven wear that points to an alignment or inflation problem. Use a gauge instead of thumping the tire. A tire can look and sound fine while it is running low.
